Hi everyone,
For my first real post I thought I would do a review of the
ChiChi Nudes palette that I bought a month or two ago (I can’t remember
exactly). This is a lot later than I had planned for it but with exams and camera problems (still not resolved) I finally just decided to bite the bullet and put it up. I bought this ChiChi palette from Target Australia
but I know that Myer’s
sell it and you can get it on the ChiChi website
though I’ve never bought anything from the website before.
ChiChi is an Australian brand that does ship internationally
(though it is pretty expensive for those outside Asia Pacific). They sell
everything from nailpolish to bath products and I’ve only just become aware of
them but so far I’m loving what I’ve bought. Don't worry if your an international reader I will be doing reviews on products I know are available all over the world (I'm thinking of reviewing the Maybelline Colour Tattoos).
There are 8 palette’s like this one sold by chichi but I’ve
only tried the Nude’s palette (I do admire all the others when I see them and I’m
considering getting the Brights or Gem Stones one). I’ll be reviewing the Nude’s
palette today. Hopefully the colours turn out right when I take the photos
because my camera decided now was the perfect time for the non-replaceable
battery to die so I have to use my phone. I’m going to review this in a few
sections to keep things organised and to make it easier to give it a thorough
review and a score at the end.
Overview
The Nude palette comes with 12 nude shades (surprise!)
ranging from a light cream to a dark grey colour with a mix of shimmer and
matte colours. The shimmer colours don’t have big chunks of glitter in them or
anything but they do give a really nice sheen. I paid around $20 for this
palette but the price fluctuates depending on where you purchase it from,
though it’s only by a few dollars.
Consistency and
colour payoff
I like the colour payoff because it's not too much, I know that doesn't sound good but hear me out. The colours are all really nice neutral shades and they're really buildable. I am a complete novice when it comes to make up. I only recently moved past a winged liner and am now getting into shading and buffing and all that so for me I need shadows where I can't accidently add too much. That being said the darker colours towards the end of the palette do have plenty of darkness. I've included swatches down the bottom but they're looking a bit dirty and pale so in real life they are a bit more pigmented than they look in the photos. They are VERY shimmery so if you don't like a little (a lot) of shimmer you might not like this palette. There are some matte colours but the majority are shimmery and honestly when you put shimmer shadows next to matte shadows the matte turn to shimmer sooner or later anyway. I personally love shimmer because they make my eyes look bigger but that's just me. They blend really well when I use my elf blending eye brush and they aren't too chalky.

Packaging
I really like the packaging, it’s a thick plastic hinged
case that feels pretty sturdy. You can see the products through the clear lid
and it clips on nice and tight. The name of the palette on the top has already
started to scratch and come off (only slightly and I do use it a lot) but there’s
a sticker on the back with the name as well. It comes in a nicely designed box
when you buy it (I’ve long since thrown it away) which keeps it safe from other
peoples fingers and also means you don’t get that pesky barcode over the top of
the name like on a lot of other products. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the
ingredients list on the packet anywhere (most likely on the box I barely looked
at before throwing away) so be sure to check for ingredients your allergic too.
Overall thoughts
I really like this palette. It comes with 12 nice, usable
colours, the packaging can stand up to being thrown around (not literally. I
would not recommend taking your anger out on your stuff) and it’s affordable
and easy to get (if you’re in Australia). I use this palette almost every time
I wear makeup so it is definitely a palette I would recommend if your looking
for a compact neutral colour palette. The colours blend well and are pretty buildable without getting chalky or cakey. Overall I am really happy I bought this palette.

Note from the Author: I'd just like to put it in writing that I intend to post twice a week on Wednesday and Friday though as we know life happens. My camera is still on the fritz so until further notice I will be using my iphone to take pictures so hopefully they won't turn out too bad.
Stay tuned for my next post my favourite lip products
